(And why now?)

Lots. Lots and lots since the last site bid farewell.

For the umpteenth time, the ship is being steadied somewhat – and, this time, I’d like it to stick. I think my record so far has been up until March, but then the Six-Nations happen, and everything reverts to the same-old.

I had a crack at DayOne, and Apple Journal. I just can’t seem to get enthusiastic about that kind of journalling though. Too much of a chore, vaguely restricted as to what you can do with the platform, and not as comfortably old-school as this.

It’s been a busy few years though. There have been deaths, job changes, injuries, adventures ….. Seems like you name it, and it’s happened. Prevailing through it all has been our family, and our closeness.

This year though, I really wanted to start tidying _my_ things up a bit. And so it begins; Consolidating various bits and pieces, taking my own health a bit more seriously, getting into more fruitful routines and just doing stuff.

It’s slowly, slowly at the moment. Building back fitness at a rate that is more appropriate for my age (as opposed to the manic three weeks last Autumn that I had to go from “sofa to 50K Chiltern Challenge”), being – and enjoying – abstemious, cutting back on pointless productivity switches – and focussing on what actually _works_, getting my hand dirty and doing stuff with/on Doris (she’ll crop up plenty), and just waking up – and going to sleep – feeling positive.

I’m sure that there’ll be plenty of slips along the way. But that’s why “you’re” here.
