The groovy new widget on the right-hand toolbar now shows my exact location – when the app is running on my phone. Jules – no more hiding down the pub for me!

Folks, if you’ve got a laptop, then you should have already wiped the existing OS (probably some flavour of Windows that’s throttling the life out of it) and installed Ubuntu.

Next problem though, what if some scrote half-inches your laptop?

I discovered Adeona (http://adeona.cs.washington.edu/) yesterday. An Open Source, Free, tracking daemon that lives in the background of your Ubuntu (or Mac, or Windows) system. Installation was extremely trouble free and it is now tracking the location of my laptop every time it is up and running.

Once your beloved piece of kit disappears, you search for the Adeona key in the great wide internet and get a stream of exactly where you machine has been and, more importantly, where it is now. In some cases, you can even use the in-built webcam to take a little snap of the perp’.

I give it a 10/10!

Upgraded to 2.6 this morning, backed up old site, everything’s working. Wonderful!

Only little glitch is that WAU is refusing to upgrade – but I can live with that.
